The well-known trademark generally refers to the registered trademark which enjoys a high reputation to the relevant public of local area in the market. The administrative Industrial and Commercial Bureau is responsible for local identification and management of well-known trademarks.

The identification of well-known trademark, according to the standard,  should consider the following aspects: (1) the owner of the trademark is a local enterprises, established in accordance with the law within the scope of social organizations, individual industrial and commercial households with effective domestic registered trademarks; (2) the products used of the trademark which won the position in the forefront of local industry not only the coverage but also the rate of the market share; (3) the comprehensive benefit of the enterprise are leading in the local industry in recent years, as well as the major economic indicators of the commodity using the trademark (i.e. sales tax, etc.) ; (4) won higher awareness in the relevant public; (5) the quality of the products used the trademark is stable and reliable; (6) no illegal acts within the past three years.
